Geoff Guthrie

Geoff Guthrie

Geoff Guthrie has been involved in music most all of his life. He has played guitar for 37 years and taught for 27. A newer resident to Nashville, Geoff continues to play and teach in his new environment as he did in his previous location in Georgia.

The teaching skills came from showing everyone how to play things in local jams, and hence a career was born. As well as extensive playing with all the best musicians in town, in all styles and situations, Geoff became known as the teacher of choice.

As a classical guitar major at Augusta State University, Geoff studied the music of the masters. Geoff visited the prestigious Berklee College of Music, taking part in the guitar sessions. This yielded a musicianship award placing him in the top 15 out of over 600 participants involved.

Now a resident of Music City, Geoff continues to push his own boundaries. He is playing locally and on the road, as well as writing, and recording with artists in Nashville.
